2nd and 3rd Grade January Enrichment
Happy New Year!
I hope you had a wonderful break.
During the month of January, the students will be studying "identity" and who we are in Christ and in this world.
The first week, we learned a little about the science of us... what genes are and what DNA is. Then we are moving to the "soul" of us- who we are in Christ and how we can become who God wants us to be. We talked about how our character is way more important than our science.
Each student has picked a character trait. They will be writing a children's book about how a character (human or animal) starts out not displaying that trait and then some event teaches her/him to learn to display that trait.
I hope to have the books done by January so we can work to publish them and have them ready for the Young Author's deadline. Of course, your student is welcome to do a different book for submission.
